I speak with Yasser Munif. He is a Sociology Assistant Professor in the institute for Liberal Arts at Emerson College where he teaches courses about social movements, the Arab uprisings, gender in the middle east, and the history of racism. He is the author of “The Syrian Revolution: between the politics of life and the geopolitics of death.” The book explores grassroots politics in Syria in the midst of genocidal violence. He is member in the Alliance of MENA Socialists and the co-founder of the Global Campaign for Solidarity with the Syrian Revolution.
