I speak with Rob Wallace to get a better understanding of the political and other conditions that favour the emergence of viable viruses. He is author of <em>Dead Epidemiologist<\/em>, B<em>ig Farms Make Big Flu<\/em> and coauthor of <em>Clear-Cutting Disease Control: Capital-Led Deforestation, Public Health Austerity, and Vector-Borne Infection<\/em>.
